Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma set a team records for the most 3-pointers made by a rookie in franchise history, hitting his only three of the game with 1:23 left in regulation.

Upon finding out he had taken the top spot in the vast history of Lakers basketball rookies, the Utah product felt vindicated after netting 132 deep balls for the season.

“It’s pretty special anytime you have any record, but especially with the Lakers,” said the 22-year-old, according to Dan Duangdao of ClutchPoints. “It’s also pretty cool just the simple fact that everybody said I couldn’t shoot.”

Kuzma had a great showing in the fourth quarter, scoring seven of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, along with two assists.

His shooting has been one of the best commodities for this Lakers team, having an athletic, versatile big man that can stretch the floor, as well as he can rebound — giving them a distinct dimension when he's on the floor.

The Michigander is shooting a respectable 36.8 percent from deep this season and managed to beat out D'Angelo Russell, who had the record before him during his rookie season.

Kuzma has proven to be a complete package this season, and can only get better as he sharpens his tool set, so long as he maintains his hot shooting with the likelihood of putting his own record out of reach during the last 13 games of the regular season.
