The Los Angeles Lakers have traded center Ivica Zubac and forward Michael Beasley to the Los Angeles Clippers for Mike Muscala, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Lakers were not able to acquire Anthony Davis before the trade deadline, but did make some moves before time was up, getting a stretch-five in Muscala and parting ways with their free agent acquisition of Beasley, along with Zubac.

Los Angeles will make further moves now that the trade deadline has passed, likely aiming at several buyout candidates that will become available in the next few weeks. Among them is Carmelo Anthony, who has been the apple of LeBron James' eye as a potential addition to this core of players.

Moving Zubac would facilitate more playing time for veterans JaVale McGee and Tyson Chandler, while Muscala could operate as a stretch-four, who could play at center in some circumstances.

Beasley is set to be waived by the Clippers shortly, allowing him to hit the free agent wire and find another home.

Zubac, meanwhile, will likely have a role on the Clippers' rebuild, getting some significant minutes with Marcin Gortat out of the picture after a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies forced the team to waive him.
