The Los Angeles Lakers have contacted the NBA, as the team believes LeBron James isn't getting a fair whistle in the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets.

James, one of the most aggressive drivers in the league, shot just two free throws during Game 3 against the Nuggets, a contest the Lakers lost.

The Lakers have presented a case to the NBA that their star, LeBron James, is not nearly getting his fair share of free throws even though they are positive the hard-charging forward is getting fouled plenty by the Denver Nuggets in their Western Conference finals playoff series.

“We’re dealing with the fouls through the proper channels with the league,” coach Frank Vogel told the media via videoconference Wednesday after practice. “I think he’s gone to the basket very aggressively, and I’ll just leave it at that.”

The two free-throws James shot in Game 3 came via a Flagrant 1 Foul on Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray. The Lakers star is averaging just 3.3 free-throws per game in the Nuggets series thus far.

The Lakers are still up 2-1 against the Nuggets despite losing Game 3. However, James and Co. certainly have to win Game 4 to regain some positive momentum in the series.

James, who is looking to win his fourth NBA title at Walt Disney World, is averaging 23.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists for the Lakers in the Nuggets series. The King is also shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line.
