Monday was a special day across the NBA and well, across the world for that matter. It was Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's 43rd birthday and by no surprise, there were lots of tributes to the Black Mamba, who tragically passed away last January.

In honor of Kobe, the Lakers teamed up with UCLA Health and gifted several newborns with Mamba gear. Take a look:

The Lakers also wrote letters to each family:

“On this special day, we want to honor Kobe Bryant and celebrate you. Kobe loved his family, and so this Kobe Day, we're giving you and your family three shirts: two for your loved ones and one for you to grow into someday,” via TMZ Sports.

What an awesome gesture from the Lakers organization. As we all know, Bryant was a huge family man and took pride in being a “Girl Dad”. As part of the package that LA provided to the families, it included a blanket, three classic #24 Kobe shirts, and even a #8 baby cap for the newborn.

The Lakers doing right by the Black Mamba as always. It's great to see and I'm sure the various families were very excited to receive some Kobe gear on their special day where they welcomed their baby into the world.
