It was a nail-bitter in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, as the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a 111-108 defeat at the hands of the Miami Heat, who themselves have cut down the series deficit to 3-2. Interestingly, this is L.A.'s first ever loss while sporting the Black Mamba jerseys in honor of the late, great Kobe Bryant.

Fox Sports' Jason McIntyre had the same message on his tweet, but also could not help but call out Lakers forward Markieff Morris for his lack of contributions for his team in the pivotal final quarter:

Morris played 23 minutes in this one, but finished with zero points, one rebound, three turnovers, and four fouls. Head coach Frank Vogel inserted him into the game for the team's final possession, and after a scramble on a rebound play, Morris ended up throwing the ball out of bounds for what perhaps turned out to be the most significant L.A. turnover in the contest.

LeBron James and Jimmy Butler put up a duel for the ages in Game 5, with the former finishing with 40 points on 15-of-21 shooting, to go along with 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and three blocks. LeBron also went 6-of-9 from distance, as he kept the Lakers in the ballgame with his accuracy from rainbow territory.

On the other hand, Butler himself would not let up. The All-Star forward dropped 35 big ones on 11-of-19 from the floor, with 12 rebounds, 11 assists, five steals, and a block. Clearly, Butler wasn't ready to head home just yet.

The Heat live to fight another day, with Game 6 scheduled for Sunday night.
