Los Angeles Lakers fans are grinning from ear to ear right now. Head coach Frank Vogel, after all, confirmed that superstar Anthony Davis will return to the lineup against the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Thursday (via Marc Stein of The New York Post).

As promised, Davis will have his minutes restricted and he'll only be on the floor for 15 minutes. Regardless of how the game goes,  don't expect to see the eight-time All-Star in the second half, since Vogel said he'll only play for the first two quarters.

The Brow, who has already practiced with the Lakers and was initially listed as day-to-day, has been out of commission for over two months. Davis initially dealt with Achilles tendonosis right before the All-Star break, but his recovery was further delayed after reaggravating the injury and suffering a calf strain against the Denver Nuggets.

The Lakers' other superstar, LeBron James, also hurt his ankle during AD's absence, which practically led to the reigning champions' drop in the Western Conference Standings. The Purple and Gold still managed to keep things afloat somehow without their two best players, and currently ranks fifth in the West with a 35-23 slate.

Davis' return, meanwhile, will be a welcome development for the Lakers, as they look to climb back to the Top 4. LeBron is also reportedly close to returning from his high ankle sprain.

Before his injury, AD notched 22.5 points on 53.3 percent shooting from the field, along with 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.8 blocks in 23 games. Hang tight Laker Nation, help is on the way.
