Lance Stephenson is nothing if not a high intensity player. The 27-year-old guard has long been known as an instigator, energizer, and overall wild card. Apparently, this is exactly what the Los Angeles Lakers are looking for.

During a conference call, Stephenson told Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet said that the Lakers want him to “bring intensity” every game. If that's what they want, LA has found their man.

Stephenson is an enigma. He's never been successful in the NBA outside of Indiana, but it sounds like the Lakers are ready to let Lance do what Lance does best. He's going to shake things up, energize the young guys and the vets, and antagonize opposing teams.

Lance has always been best when he has a clear objective in mind. Throughout his career, he's been a known LeBron James antagonizer, and their playoff matchups are legendary—even if LeBron always got the last laugh.

This time, Lance is going to be the attack dog that LeBron lets loose on opposing teams. If anyone knows how frustrating Stephenson can be, it's James.

Stephenson will come off the bench for the Lakers. His ability to score, defend, and do everything in between could be the perfect shot of life Los Angeles needs during games where they're going through the motions over the grueling 82-game season.

Furthermore, Lance is one of the most entertaining players in all of basketball. It's only fitting that he's going to be playing on one of the biggest stages.
