The Los Angeles Lakers may have already lost to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday, by way of a game-winner by Damian Lillard with 0.7 seconds left, but that's not the only piece of bad news they had to endure on the night.

During the third quarter, their starting power forward, Larry Nance Jr., suffered an injury to his left hand while attempting to block a shot. He was immediately taken out of the game and went directly to their locker room.

The results of the X-Ray were quickly released, which revealed that he suffered a fracture on the second metacarpal of his hand, according to Mike Trudell of Spectrum Sportsnet.

It's still unclear if he'll miss a significant amount of time, and what the exact extent of the injury is. This is definitely a huge blow to the Lakers as the 24-year-old Wyoming product has been playing solid basketball for them so far this season. Through seven matches, Larry Nance Jr. has been averaging career high numbers of 11.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 23.7 minutes per game.

Julius Randle is expected to see an uptick in his minutes should Nance be forced to sit out games. Kyle Kuzma could also see some playing time at the power forward spot depending on matchups.
