The NBA season is only weeks away from taking place and what better way to get everyone hyped for the Los Angeles Lakers season-opener than with one of LaVar Ball's wild claims.

The Ballfather joined the set of First Take once again, and Stephen A. Smith didn't fail to incite a potential prediction from Ball, asking him what the Lakers will do this year after he tossed away any plans of waiting until the next season to get talent into the team.

“Fifty-plus wins,” said Ball confidently, drawing an outrageous reaction from Smith in the set. “My son can win 50 out of 80 games. Playoff time, playoff time.”

If that wasn't enough of a measuring stick, Ball later said the Lakers would split the season series with the champion Golden State Warriors at two a piece, putting even more faith (and pressure) into his rookie son coming into the season.

While the Lakers have made key acquisitions on a scoring center like Brook Lopez and a knockdown shooter in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, they are still bound to face plenty of strong foes, as the West has reloaded with the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Minnesota Timberwolves stacking up talent during the offseason.

If Lonzo and company do indeed reach 50 wins at the end of the season, it won't be long before LaVar comes back to the set of First Take and tell Smith how he's spoken it into existence.
