Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has never shied away from speaking out on social injustice, and on Friday, he made that very clear once again.

A video posted to Twitter showed a police offer shoving an elderly white man to the ground in Buffalo, causing the man to bleed out of his ear as he lay motionless.

James was infuriated when he saw the incident and made sure to point out the police's initial lie on the matter:

Protests have been surging across America since George Floyd was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis last week.

Athletes from all sports have been speaking out, and James has been very vocal. While he hasn't taken part in any protests like some other players have, he has been constantly posting on Instagram and Twitter about the injustices he has been seeing over the last week.

LeBron also criticized Drew Brees and FOX News host Laura Ingraham over the last week, so he has been busy on social media.

Of course, the Lakers star also has a distinguished NBA career that you may be fairly familiar with. Before the season went into hiatus, the 35-year-old was an MVP candidate making a run at Giannis Antetokounmpo's crown. He held averages of 25.7 points, 10.6 assists and 7.9 rebounds while shooting 49.8% from the field.

James' Lakers sat at 49-14 when the season was suspended, putting them atop the Western Conference. Now that the NBA is finally set to return on July 31, LeBron and company will again take aim at a championship.

For now, however, LeBron James has his mind on more important things, like making the world a better place for everybody. He's not going to “shut up and dribble,” and he's going to keep using his platform for good.
