Multiple members of the Los Angeles Lakers — including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Alex Caruso and Danny Green — posted identical messages on their Instagram stories in a display of unity during the current moment of racial unrest across America. Other Lakers players, including Dwight Howard and Quinn Cook, have since followed suit and shared the message, too.

The message in white letters over an all-black background is simple: “If YOU ain't wit US, WE ain't wit Y'ALL!”

L.A. residents (and former Laker) Lonzo and LaMelo Ball also posted the message to their Instagram accounts. Lonzo, LaMelo and their brother LiAngelo took part in peaceful protests in the Chino Hills area of their hometown on Sunday.

Other ex-Lakers, including DeMarcus Cousins, Jordan Clarkson and Thomas Bryant, also shared the message on their respective IG stories.

Protests and outrage has swept the nation in the past week after video footage showing George Floyd being pinned down by a Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin. Floyd died in police custody. Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday, while the three other officers present for the incident remain under investigation and have yet to be charged with a crime.

The city of Los Angeles saw a series of large protests along with looting and rioting in various neighborhoods over the weekend, including in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.

On Sunday, James retweeted a video of a peaceful protest in Denver, and blamed the media for not covering similarly peaceful demonstrations taking place across the country enough:

LeBron and his fellow Lakers will continue to be outspoken against racial injustice as this situation develops across the country.
