Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James and veteran guard Avery Bradley will play on Friday night against the Dallas Mavericks despite a bug passing around.

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, James and Bradley are “under the weather.” However, they still opted to play against the Mavs.

James, 35, has only missed a single game during the 2019-20 season — the 17th one in his storied career — despite his age and the contending status of the Lakers this year. A four-time NBA MVP and 15-time All-Star, James missed a December game against the Denver Nuggets, resulting in a blowout loss.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Bradley missed a string of games in November and December but has since returned and has been reinserted into the starting lineup.

It is worth noting that Anthony Davis has been ruled out of the Lakers' Monday night showdown, likely as a precautionary measure after the superstar big man fell hard on his back against the New York Knicks last Tuesday.

With that said, missing both James and Bradley would have been a massive blow to the team as they try to extend their six-game winning streak and further solidify their position at the top of the Western Conference.

LeBron James is putting up 25.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.9 assists per game for the Lakers while shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from deep and 68.8 percent from the free-throw line.

On the other hand, Avery Bradley has been solid in the 23 games he has played in so far, registering 8.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 assist and 1.o steal per contest. He is also shooting 45.5 percent overall, though he has struggled connecting from beyond the arc with a 26.2 percent 3-point shooting clip.
