Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James backed up Houston Rockets forward Carmelo Anthony amid criticisms pointed at Melo's chemistry issues with his new team. The two may have been pitted as rivals when they were still young, but the two veteran All-Stars have become buddies ever since.

Through his official Twitter account, James quote tweeted Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade's post of support for Anthony. James, Wade, Anthony, and Chris Paul have been the closest of friends for some time now.

Here is Wade's own quote tweet of The Associated Press' Tim Reynolds' statement regarding the Anthony saga:

The Rockets met with Anthony not even a month into the season to discuss his future with the team. There are plenty of rumors going around that Melo has played his last game in Houston, though nothing is official yet.

Opinions regarding the Rockets' chemistry issues appear to be divided. While many fans were already skeptical about the Anthony acquisition in the offseason, there are still some who point out that putting so much of the blame on the 34-year-old All-Star is actually unfair.

Anthony's suspect defense has been well-documented throughout his career. The Rockets should have seen this coming right from the start, though they were hoping he would provide a bit more on the offensive end. Unfortunately,Ā he has been quite off in the scoring department this season with a career-low 13.4 points per game on mediocre shooting numbers.

On the other end, the Rockets have had plenty of other issues besides Anthony. Paul is dealing with an elbow injury and has struggled with his shot. James Harden missed time with a hamstring injury. Eric Gordon has been awful. While Carmelo Anthony has been problematic, Houston has other issues to figure out as well.
