LeBron James in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform still feels surreal, but the superstar is calling the pairing a “perfect match” in the early days of training camp. James feels that he is a perfect fit for the Lakers and vice-versa.

“It's a perfect match and this city is built on stars. This city breeds stars and they breed winners and I'm a winner, more importantly. I'm a winner, but obviously, with Jeannie and Earvin and Rob, they know what it means and they know what it feels to win. So they're a little bit closer to the finish line than it would be when I first got back to Cleveland.

“But we wanna get back to winning and this franchise hasn't won in the last few years, but that's all they've known since they've been in existence. I'm happy to be here at this point now in my career and at this point in time of the Lakers franchise today where we both wanna get back to this promised land.”

James knows a thing or two about winning and there aren't many franchises in the history of the NBA with more championships and more prestige than the Lakers. Boston Celtics fans might have a gripe with that statement, but someone should remind them that they only have one championship in the last 32 years. The Lakers have seven in that time.

So in terms of prestige and winning pedigree, James seems to have a point about finding the “perfect match” in Los Angeles.
