LeBron James has just come out with a rather surprising statement about the Los Angeles Lakers' current mindset with the playoffs nearing.

According to LeBron, while they are getting to the physical conditioning they need for the playoffs, it is a different story about their mental preparation.

James made the claim following the Lakers' Monday night win over the Denver Nuggets, which was their first win in the past four games.

Not to worry Lakers fans. LeBron James has made it abundantly clear in his closing remark that both himself and his team will be ready when the playoffs come. LA still has one seeding game remaining scheduled for Thursday against the Sacramento Kings, which should help with the team's preparations.

The Lakers have won just three out of their seven seeding games in the bubble thus far, and they are in dire need of some momentum heading into the playoffs. As the top seed in the West, they will be pitted against the winner of the play-in tournament for the eighth seed, which is currently a dog fight between the Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns.

Whoever secures the eighth and final seed among the aforementioned four teams will be coming off a series of wins, and the Lakers — who will likely have a few days off prior to the start of the playoffs — will need to be physically and mentally prepared to face a team with momentum on their side.

Then again, as LeBron implied above, everything changes once the playoffs kicks in. With that said, fans can be sure that James and Co. will be more than ready by then.
