The Los Angeles Lakers announced Wednesday that superstar small forward LeBron James has been cleared to return to practice next week.

LeBron James suffered a left groin injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. The Lakers are just 4-7 since LeBron went down and even lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers at home.

In his first season with the Lakers, LeBron James is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists while shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the arc.

This is probably the worst injury James has suffered during his legendary career. The four-time MVP has never missed this many games before. Although The King got lucky and didn't need to undergo surgery, it's clear that his groin ailment was more serious than people initially thought.

LeBron James is also 34-years-old. He is still built like Superman, but James can't heal as fast as he used to be able to. It's just how the human body works.

The Lakers have an overall record of 24-21 on the season. They are currently in the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings. The team has dropped four spots in the standings and looks like a lottery team without James on the court leading them. The fans in LA can't wait for their leader and best player to return to the court.
