The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in a surprisingly tight game on Tuesday night in FedEx Forum. However, LeBron James still came up big late in the game with a terrific block on the Brandon Clarke.

As can be seen in the video, Clarke was fairly wide open in the middle of the paint, an area in which he dominated last season as one of the best rookies in the league for the Grizzlies.

Clark was automatic on his floater due to his leaping ability and tremendous touch, but clearly, LeBron James was well prepared for the move and timed his block perfectly to stop the youngster at the rim.

At that point in the contest, the Lakers were up 88-83 with under 50 seconds left; however, the Grizzlies were able to stick around after the play due to two consecutive turnovers from Anthony Davis and LeBron.

With the score 92-86 in favor of the Lakers, Davis made a pass out of bounds, allowing the Grizz to tack on a free throw. Then, even the peerless James fumbled a rebound out of bounds, leading to a Clarke layup that Bron was unable to block–cutting the Lakers' lead to three points at 92-89.

James was able to assist Kyle Kuzma on a layup that proved to be the deciding basket, as Memphis was able to drill a three with 1.7 seconds left.

Of course, the Grizzlies are heavily injured–as they are without their two best players in Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant–but the King still held on to his crown on the night.
