Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently revealed that he's already received the COVID-19 vaccine. The King, however, stopped short of promoting the benefits of vaccination by implying that it will always be a personal choice for people if they want to get vaccinated or not. In a shocking turn of events, Senator Ted Cruz has taken LeBron's side on this polarizing issue.
Ted Cruz has not always been a big fan of the Lakers star, but this time around, the Republican United States Senator could not help but agree with LeBron's stance:
2/x I’ve never said this before: I agree with @KingJames
“We’re talking about people’s bodies and well-being. I don’t think I personally should get involved in what other people should do for their bodies and livelihoods.”
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) September 29, 2021
Now that's not something you see everyday. Who would have thought that Cruz would ever endorse LeBron James — especially on a highly sensitive topic such as vaccination.
Cruz then took it a step further by literally putting words into the mouth of the Lakers superstar. Well, at least he hopes LeBron says something like this:
3/x @KingJames is being courageous here.
With his box-office power, he could be even more courageous—he could SOLVE the problem—by saying:
“I stand w/ my fellow players. And I won’t play in any arena that bans another NBA player because they make a personal healthcare choice.”

I'm not entirely sure LeBron would be willing to make such a sweeping statement about boycotting NBA games. That, in itself, would truly be shocking.
Regardless of James' unwillingness to push vaccination among his fellow players, the fact still remains that the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the many teams that will have all its players fully vaccinated once the season tips off. I guess you can say that LeBron had a bit of a hand in that, too?
