Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is on an incredible scoring spree. In fact it's so historic that he was able to achieve an NBA record only done by Wilt Chamberlain before.

James dropped 50 points on Friday to lead the Lakers to a 122-109 win over the Washington Wizards. It's already his second 50-point game in a span of three games he played after crushing the Golden State Warriors with 56 points last week. Before his latest explosion for the Lakers, he had 23 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists in their recent showdown with the Houston Rockets.

As Justin Kubatko of Basketball Reference noted, LeBron is only the second player after Wilt to record two 50-point games and a triple-double in a span of three contests. Chamberlain did so back in March 1963.

LeBron James is carrying the Lakers in the absence of Anthony Davis and amid the struggles of Russell Westbrook, and man, he's going all out. It is also interesting to note that his latest exploits comes after he shared his disappointment that he is not being mentioned as of the best scorers in the history of the NBA.

The Lakers leader admitted he's pissed that he's not getting the respect he deserves when it comes to scoring despite being among the Top 3 leaders in points in NBA history. Sure enough, he is showing everyone that he can score at will whenever he wants to.

It remains to be seen if James can keep the same intensity in the final stretch of the season, but the Lakers will wish he can because they need the 37-year-old to be an absolute beast to be able to make the playoffs.
