Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain after Saturday's game against the Atlanta Hawks.

LeBron suffered the injury early in the second quarter while gathering a loose ball. Based on the videos, he injured the ankle after a collision with Solomon Hill. The Lakers star was eventually ruled out of the game as LA fell, 99-94.

While his X-ray results initially turned out negative, there have been fears that his injury is a high-ankle sprain. Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, he is out indefinitely.

LeBron James was initially able to walk it off and continued playing and even hit a 3-pointer moments after clutching his ankle in agony. However, the pain eventually proved too much as he subbed himself out and returned to the locker room without assistance.

James had 10 points, four assists and one board in 11 minutes of action for the Lakers before his injury.

While LeBron has only missed one of the Lakers' 42 games so far this season, he has been hounded by minor ankle issues for the most part. His initial diagnosis is definitely a worrisome development for the Purple and Gold and their fans, considering their other superstar in Anthony Davis is still out for a considerable amount of time.

LeBron is once again a strong MVP contender for the nth time in his career, norming 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.0 steal in his 18th season in the league.
