Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is a basketball junkie.

James missed the playoffs last season for the first time since his second year in the NBA. While getting his mind and body right, LeBron watched every game of the postseason, not because it's his job, but because he just loves the game:

There's a reason James is one of the smartest basketball minds ever. He's always watching the game and studying the best players in it.

Odds are LeBron goes off on Friday against the Utah Jazz after struggling versus the LA Clippers on opening night. The Lakers star put up 18 points in 36 minutes against the Clippers while shooting 7-of-19 from the field. James had nine rebounds, eight assists and five turnovers. It was a performance no one thought James would have given that it was the first game of the season and it was versus the Clippers.

LeBron was too passive on Tuesday. The Lakers may run their offense through Anthony Davis, but The King still has to be aggressive and put his head down and get to the basket.

Last season for the Lakers, James averaged 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games while shooting 51.0 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line.
