Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is not stopping until WNBA star Brittney Griner gets back home.

Griner has been detained in Russia for over 100 days now. The Phoenix Mercury player was arrested back in February after custom Russian officials found vape cartridges in her luggage. Apparently, the said cartridges contained hashish oil–derived from cannabis–which is illegal in the country. Her violation warrants 10 years in prison.

However, the US government has declared that Griner has been wrongfully detained. Unfortunately, there is still no clear path to get her released and back to the US.

In response, LeBron took to Twitter to call for authorities to help Griner. The Lakers leader also shared a message from Uninterrupted urging President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris to take action.

Prior to that, LeBron James joined the Boston Celtics in their show of support for Brittney Griner. On Saturday, the Beantown team wore t-shirts with the message “WE ARE BG.” The Lakers forward posted the video on his Instagram Story and wrote “#WEAREBG.”

There are no new updates when it comes to Griner's situation in Russia, and it is still unknown if the US has found a way to get her back. However, with LeBron, the Celtics and more players speaking out, the pressure on the government ramps up.
