It's safe to say at this point that the Los Angeles Lakers have yet to find their groove as a single cohesive unit. Chemistry has been one of the biggest questions the team has had to face following its offseason overhaul and right now, it is clear that the players still need time to get used to playing alongside each other.

This is exactly what Lakers superstar LeBron James had to say with regards to his on-court chemistry with new teammate Russell Westbrook. LeBron admitted that his partnership with the former league MVP remains to be a work-in-progress:

“We haven’t had enough games together to know exactly what’s gonna work the best for our team long term,” LeBron said, via Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints.

LeBron did point out a couple of silver linings with regards to his chemistry with Westbrook, though. James added that at least in the “short term” both he and Russ have been “dynamic” not only when it comes to making the right calls during transition but also in their pick-and-roll game.

LeBron has missed virtually half of the season for the Lakers thus far due to various injuries. This has been the biggest reason behind his lack of playing time alongside Westbrook and as James pointed out, this has been the most significant factor behind their lack of chemistry.

The good news for the Lakers here is that there's still a lot of time left this season. LeBron and Russ should eventually figure out how to bring out the best in each other. They should, right?
