The next-gen of gaming consoles are releasing soon and to push NBA 2K21 on the upcoming consoles, they're giving fans a first look at player ratings. There's a familiar face at the top of the virtual leaderboards. After another stellar season that ended in a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James earns the highest NBA 2K21 rating.

LeBron is being rewarded with a 98 overall rating, making him the highest-rated player in the game. The 35-year-old James just completed his 17th season in the NBA and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Throughout the 2019-2020 season, LeBron averaged 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game for the Los Angeles Lakers. His 10.2 assists per game led the entire league and was a career-high for the playmaking forward.

Following his impressive effort in the regular season, James — to no one's surprise — took his game to another level in the playoffs. In his first playoffs with the Lakers, LeBron averaged 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game.

Then, in the NBA Finals versus the Miami Heat, LeBron was basically unstoppable on his quest for his fourth NBA title. As Los Angeles won in six games, James posted 29.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game on 59 percent shooting from the field.

On the other hand, given his impressive efforts in the NBA Finals, NBA 2K21 has awarded Jimmy Butler a 93 overall rating. Despite falling to LeBron and the Lakers, Butler proved his star status, notching 26.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game in the series.

NBA 2K21 is slowly releasing some other top ratings for this game.

For years, it has been a common theme for LeBron James to be the highest-rated player in NBA 2K and this year is no different.
