Comparisons between Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Zion Williamson will persist through the playing careers of both basketball superheroes.

When it comes to advising the presumptive number one pick on his future in wake of his recent knee injury, though, James is refusing to overstep his boundaries:

“I have no comment on what he should do for his future,” the Los Angeles Lakers superstar told Sports Illustrated on Thursday. “If he needed any advice, he can find a way to find me.

“It's not someone to go and sit across the table and go, ‘LeBron said this about this kid,'” James continued. “He has to do what’s best for him and his family is always going to support him. … It’s not my lane to talk about what he should do going forward.”

Williamson suffered a right knee injury in the opening moments of Duke's highly-anticipated matchup against North Carolina on Wednesday when he tore through his shoe while making a routine cut.

Though the 18-year-old phenom avoided serious injury and is listed as day-to-day before returning to the court, his close call in front of a national audience ignited a renewed discussion on the NCAA's amateurism policies, leading some to suggest he should sit out the season's remainder.

Tickets for Wednesday's contest between the Tobacco Road rivals were selling for over $3,000, an indication of Williamson's star power more than any additional unqualified interest in games featuring the Blue Devils and Tar Heels.

James, like so many others in the public eye, expressed support for Williamson after his injury on social media, and had previously said “I love everything about the kid” when asked for his opinion on the game's Next Big Thing.
