LeBron James' former teammate Iman Shumpert ruffled some feathers with his rather spicy take on the Los Angeles Lakers forward.

In an appearance on the The Bootleg Kev podcast, the Lakers star's ex-teammate was vocal on how LeBron James “ruined basketball” with his decision to take his talents to the Miami Heat in 2010.

Via YouTube:

“It was Bron first going to Miami. Bron knows he ruined basketball. He thought he was making it better, I get it. Me personally, I love the NBA for the loyalty that I thought was there. He basically knocked the fourth wall down, like man the owners ain't s–t, they B.S.-ing, we do what we want. Great business move, for sure.”

Shumpert inevitably got a lot of backlash over his subtle LeBron James slander. Despite that, he doubled down on his comments, even using other Lakers greats in his latest example to prove King James was sui generis.

“Find me the year the top player left his throne and joined someone else? Closest thing was Shaq but Bigs have to pair up and Kobe was the juice. Bron had no need and had all the influence. I can debate this all day.”

Love or hate the move, LeBron James has certainly found success in moving from one team to another. In every subsequent stop of his legendary career, he's brought a title to the city that welcomed him.
