Things may have just got even worse for the Los Angeles Lakers. On Saturday afternoon against the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James got tied up between a few different Hawks players and rolled his ankle, instantly going down and grimacing in pain.

He proceeded to shake it off and hit a corner three, but then ended up retreating to the bench not long after and eventually exited to the locker room. The Lakers star is one of the toughest players around and to see him in this type of pain is certainly not a good sign.

The team has now announced that James will not return due to a right ankle injury, per ClutchPoints' Michael Corvo:

LA is already missing the absence of Anthony Davis and if LeBron's injury ends up being more serious than expected, this could be a real problem for Frank Vogel's squad.

Before James' departure, he already had 10 points in just 11 minutes of action as he continues to solidify himself as one of the top MVP candidates in the association.

The severity of the ankle issue is not yet known, but the fact that he's not coming back to the court means that it's more than just minor. For the Lakers' sake and LeBron's, we can only pray that he misses limited time.
