LeBron James is expected to travel with the Los Angeles Lakers and is now on track to play on Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

James is said to be feeling fine enough to play after receiving treatment on his injured groin Thursday, having re-aggravated it during the Lakers’ Christmas Day loss to the Los Angeles Clippers after attempting to take a charge on point guard Patrick Beverley.

James had missed time due to this same injury last week, which resulted in a loss to the Denver Nuggets. The King returned in time for a Christmas matchup against the Lakers' bitter in-house rivals but looked hampered by the injury through the second half of the game.

The Lakers are riding a season-worst four-game skid, but are still two full games ahead of the Clippers for the best record in the West.

Around this time last year, James was forced to miss 17 straight games with a similar injury to the left side of his groin, though this one (to the right side) is not believed to be as severe.

The Lakers have struggled mightily without James, finding themselves in dire need of their vision and playmaking, as well as his re-energized vigor for defense.
