Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James wore a T-shirt to recognize the late George Floyd and other victims of social injustice prior to Monday night's game against the Utah Jazz.

According to ESPN's Nick DePaula, the logo on the front of the shirt is a stopwatch stopped at 8:46 — the amount of time Floyd spent with his neck pinned to the ground by the knee of a Minneapolis police officer.

During his postgame media availability, James elaborated on his decision to wear the shirt. In fact, much of his interview was spent discussing Floyd and other racial issues that the world is still dealing with:

“You think about 8 minutes and 46 seconds — an officer having his knee on someone's throat for that long,” James said during his postgame presser. “Video or no video, it doesn't matter. No one deserves to lose their life, when it could've been prevented.

“That's what the T-shirt is all about,” James added. “The world is watching.”

James logged 35 minutes in Monday night's 116-108 victory, notching 22 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, two steals and one block. Anthony Davis led the charge for the Lakers, racking up 42 points and 12 rebounds in 39 minutes of action. With the win, Los Angeles clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the first time in 10 years.

James and many other NBA players have remained active in this cause during this season's restart inside the Orlando bubble. Prior to Saturday's game against the Toronto Raptors, coaches, players and referees knelt with locked arms during both national anthems:

James and the Lakers will be back in action on Wednesday night with a matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Los Angeles is 2-1 inside the Disney World bubble.
