LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers shared that his family was a bit nervous about their new neighborhood, especially the new school and the new basketball team of their eldest son.

James' son LeBron ‘Bronny' James Jr., scored an impressive 27 points in his debut for the Santa Monica Crossroads' eighth-grade basketball team. Though it may seem that the younger James had ice in his veins and has fully adjusted, his father admitted that his whole family was nervous going into a brand new environment. Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

“It was kind of nervous for all of us because it's the beginning, it's the start,” James said. “I mean, he did play flag football. Both of them played flag football before basketball season started, so they got acclimated that way as far as sports, but obviously basketball rings bells in our household and they both were extremely excited. They laid their uniforms out the night before, they laid their shoes out like it was the first day of school, so it's a good start for us being in a new school, new community, a new neighborhood.”

James Jr. now wears jersey no. 23 just like his father. Previously, he wore no. 0 with Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder being his idol. While LeBron James wants his son to trek his own path, he admitted that he was happy when he saw his son donning his jersey number.

“My kid has his own personality, he has his own DNA. We share the same name but he has his own path,” James said. “But it was cool when he came downstairs the other day and showed me that he was wearing 23 and then my youngest son came to me and showed me that he was wearing 6.”
