After leading the Los Angeles Lakers to their 17th title in franchise history, LeBron James was deservingly awarded with the Finals MVP trophy on Sunday night. Head coach Frank Vogel had nothing but high praise for his superstar after their championship-clinching victory against the Miami Heat, with Vogel dubbing LeBron as the GOAT of the universe.

According to Vogel, there's no doubt in his mind about LeBron being the greatest ever:

“He's the greatest player the basketball universe has ever seen,” Vogel said, via Melissa Rohlin of SI. “And if you think you know, you don't know.”

That's quite an unequivocal statement from Vogel there, but to be fair to him, he has had the opportunity to see James up close virtually every single day. During this time, the first-year Lakers coach was able to witness LeBron's unbridled greatness — both on, and perhaps even more impressively for him, off the court — which has prompted him to come out with his all-encompassing message here.

In Game 6 on Sunday against the Heat, James had another epic performance, finishing with a game-high 28 points on 13-of-20 shooting, to go along with 14 rebounds, 10 assists, a steal, and just one turnover in 41 minutes of action. He has been nothing short of spectacular for the Lakers in this Finals series, and he's undoubtedly cemented his name in basketball history by winning the fourth championship of his illustrious 17-year career.

Clearly, coach Vogel could not agree any more.
