Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James couldn't hold back his emotions as he celebrates Bronny James' 17th birthday on Wednesday.

On Instagram, James sent a rather heartwarming greeting for his son, who is following his footsteps in basketball. The Lakers star has nothing but love and praise for his son, as Bronny has grown into a fine young man right before his eyes.

“They is insane man!!! 17!! 17!! What In the hell is going on. How are you 17??” LeBron wrote with three pleading face emojis. “My baby boy! Ight enough of soft [s***s].. Proud of you Young [king]. Watching you grow into the young man you are today makes me so happy and proud! Love you kid! Keep going up above and beyond! I’m right here guiding and watching!”

LeBron James is considered one of the best, if not the best basketball player in the world today. More than that, however, the Lakers forward has always been known as a supportive dad to his kids as they venture out and make decisions for themselves.

Sure enough, James is one proud dad as he watches his eldest son carve his own path not only in basketball, but also in his life. As a father, though, it looks like LeBron still can't believe that his children are all growing up and will soon want to fly independently.

Bronny James is currently playing for Sierra Canyon High School and set to graduate in 2023, after which he is expected to play in the collegiate level. Because of the league's eligibility rules, though, the young James cannot enter the NBA Draft until after his first year in college in 2024.

Despite that, however, many are hoping he'll get to play in the pros alongside his father–maybe with the Lakers.
