Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had to tip his hat to Devin Booker after the young Phoenix Suns star's electric performance on Thursday. After the heartbreaking 113-100 Game 6 rout, James met with Booker behind the scenes to hand him a signed jersey as a sign of mutual respect.

James' message to Booker after the game was simple, which he wrote in bold letters in the jersey he handed to the young star:

“Continue to be great.” James wrote (via NBA).

We all know how Booker reacts to these messages.

Booker was absolutely incredible in Game 6. From the get-go, the two-time All-Star was all hands on deck and led the Suns with a record-setting 22-point first-quarter explosion. Booker's red-hot shooting out of the gates caught the defending champs off guard and helped mount a huge advantage early in the game.

The Michigan-native played 46 minutes on Thursday and capped off his incredible playoff series debut against the Lakers in legendary fashion. He finished with a playoff career-high of 47 points while knocking down eight of his ten three-point bombs.

James, on the other hand, put up an impressive stat line of his own. The four-time MVP ended the season with 29 points, nine boards, and seven dimes on a losing effort as the Lakers' quest for back-to-back titles officially comes to a close. With Anthony Davis only playing five minutes in Game 6 before re-injuring his groin, James and the rest of the Purple & Gold squad showed little to no resistance against the red-hot Suns led by Booker.
