The Los Angeles Lakers lost again on Wednesday night. This time, they blew a 14-point second half lead at Memphis. It is the Lakers sixth loss in their last seven games. In defeat, Los Angeles fell to 17-19 on the season. That's good enough for 8th place in the Western Conference.

However, in the loss, LeBron James did something he has only done twice in his career. James sank eight shots from downtown.

The only other times he accomplished that were in 2009 for the Cleveland Cavaliers and then in 2014 as a member of the Miami Heat.

LeBron James finished with a team-high 37 points. He was ultra efficient, shooting 13 for 25 from the floor. It was not good enough though as Ja Morant and the Grizzlies stormed back in the second half for the win.

Morant led all scorers with 41 points on 13 for 27 shooting. He hit six of seven shots from downtown as well. Morant became the first Grizzlies player in franchise history to score 40 or more points three times.

After falling behind late in the fourth quarter, James sank a 25-foot three pointer to bring the Lakers within three. That was as close as they would get. With just over a minute left, Ja Morant hit a tip shot, pushing him over the 40-point mark. That built the lead to five.

Following a Malik Monk made basket and a Morant miss, LeBron pulled up for the tying shot from 25 feet once again. He came up empty this time.

The Lakers will try to right the ship on New Year's Eve against the Portland Trailblazers.
