Remember when many believed Carmelo Anthony was already washed up? Since making his NBA comeback, the high-scoring forward has proven he can still get 'em buckets for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony has led the Lakers in scoring in several games this season, and that's despite coming off the bench. He's been the team's top threat from long range and the multiple All-Star has largely been on target.

Much has been said about him finally embracing his role as a plug-in offensive threat, something that didn't sit well with him during his stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets. But since accepting the reality that he's not the top gun anymore, Anthony has been nothing but a weapon. His Lakers teammate LeBron James perhaps described him the best (via ESPN).

“A threat. He is a sniper. What we call it in our league—guys that don't need much airspace to get it off because of his quick trigger.”

Obviously, Anthony punished a lot of opponents when he was the alpha dog for the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. He was an unstoppable force on offense, even leading the NBA in scoring in the 2012-2013 season. San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who had tough battles with those Anthony-led Nuggets squads, gave a more candid description of the veteran forward.

“He's been a pain on the ass on every one of those teams.”

Carmelo Anthony's first season with the Lakers hasn't been smooth overall, but there's no denying that he remains as one of the game's elite studs.
