LeBron James quickly got wind of a recent report signaling that executives and agents around the league are pushing for the cancelation of the 2019-20 season.

The Los Angeles Lakers star omnipotently denied that agents and executives would want that as an outcome for the season, taking to Twitter to appease his grievances:

James is likely speaking from his own camp here, as he is close to Rich Paul and Klutch Sports as well as the Lakers. Yet there are several other agents and executives who are tired of getting no clear-cut decisions from the league as far as how to proceed.

The opening of practice facilities has been more of a preventative measure than a step forward toward resuming the season, which came to a halt on March 11.

There have been no clear signs that the NBA plans to continue with the season, but canceling it altogether remains as a last resort. While players and executives have been utterly optimistic, the spike in confirmed coronavirus cases around the country have made some eerie of the risk that could involve playing games without proper testing or a vaccine.

Time has been the NBA's biggest enemy after the pandemic itself, as many would like to see a sense of finality to be able to prep accordingly for next season — whether that is contractually or organizationally.

James and the Lakers would love to see the season resume, boasting the best record in the West and with a good chance to go far in the postseason. Unfortunately, the risk-reward factor is much bigger than a franchise finally regaining some semblance of glory after many underwhelming seasons during this past decade.
