Los Angeles Lakers new acquisition LeBron James leads the packs as an odds-on favorite to come away with the 2018-19 Most Valuable Player award, according to Bovada (via Sean Highkin of Bleacher Report).

James is a 10/3 favorite to win the largely-coveted award, having four to his name already, along with three Finals MVP honors.

The Akron native is followed by Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans (4/1), Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks (9/2), and reigning MVP James Harden of the Houston Rockets (11/2).

James will be taking center stage this season, after the Lakers fell shy of adding another All-Star to play alongside him.

While the Lakers don't have immediate title aspirations, James is expected to rack up big-time numbers as a do-it-all star player. His case will be also aided by an improvement in the team's record and a potential playoff seed, further helping his claim as the NBA's best player next season.

The likes of Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and Kyrie Irving round out the top-10 names vying for the lauded award.

According to Bovada, this is The King's award to lose — and if he is half the player he proved to be by single-handedly carrying the Cleveland Cavaliers to a fourth-straight NBA Finals appearance, this might be a pretty solid bet to make.
