LeBron James has held private on-court workouts with some of his Los Angeles Lakers teammates, according to Shams Charania of Stadium. The workouts reportedly were held safely at a secure location.

James included only one to two teammates at a time to conform with the regulations the league has put forth since allowing the reopening of team facilities around the country:

“All the safety measures have been taken, ” said Charania. “I'm told, in these private workouts, everyone involved has been tested, everyone involved has practiced social distancing. Everyone involved has taken the necessary steps to make sure that they're following the proper guidelines.

The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly done the same, now that Los Angeles County has made an exception for sports teams to resume activities, so long as they follow counsel from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention along with the NBA's guidelines.

James clearly wants to get the upper edge here since California wasn't among the first states to open following the near two-month shutdown since the NBA came to a halt on March 11.

The King is one of the main pursuers of resuming the NBA season, and he's showing it by ramping up activity with a few of his close friends on the team.

The NBA is reportedly still considering a 70-game season, which would give teams only a handful of regular-season games to play before the postseason begins. Time is precious for James and the Lakers, and it seems The King has every intention to make every minute count.
