Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has provided a key update on the injury status of LeBron James and it should get LA fans excited. After there was an initial fear that the four-time NBA champ could be out for up to two months due to an abdominal strain, Vogel has now revealed that LeBron could return to the court much sooner than expected.

According to coach Frank, LeBron's road to recovery has come without a hitch, and that he's now closing in on a much-anticipated comeback (h/t Jovan Buha of The Athletic):

LeBron James has been out of commission for the Lakers since November 4th. He's missed just five games thus far, including Friday's tilt against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

A former Lakers coach earlier stated that LeBron's abdominal issue could cost him up to eight weeks on the sidelines. Thankfully, this recent update from Vogel blows that previous report out of the water.

The Lakers have been struggling mightily to start the 2021-22 campaign. Injuries have played a key role in their early-season problems and at this point, it is clear that they'd love to get LeBron James back as soon as possible. Nevertheless, LA will still take a cautious approach here as they continue to manage their superstar's load the rest of the way.
