This year's crop of promising rookies have spoken, and it has been revealed that Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James stands out as the most popular NBA player among all these young and promising athletes.

John Schumann was given the assignment of coming up with this year's edition of NBA.com's rookie survey, wherein these young prospects are asked several questions pertaining to how they view other players — mostly their co-rookies — in the league.

When asked about their Top 1 favorite player in the entire NBA, LeBron came out on top with 38% of the total votes. Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant was a distant second with 20% of the tally, while guys like Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, and James Harden all had to settle for less than 10% of the votes each.

This result does not come as a shock at all, as this is actually James' fourth consecutive win in this particular survey question. In the decade-long history of the survey, this is LeBron's fifth selection overall, with Durant and Lakers great Kobe Bryant the only other players not named LeBron James to have been voted at the top of this list.

LeBron's domination in this category makes sense, considering most of these rookies grew up watching James kill it in the NBA.

The three-time NBA champion will be entering his 17th season in the league this coming year, so he obviously has been around long enough to serve as most of these kids' ultimate idol growing up.
