With the Los Angeles Lakers' 116-108 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, LeBron James and the Lakers clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the first time in 10 years.

A fierce competitor, James is always looking for a sliver of inspiration to step his game up. Following Monday night's matchup, The King spoke with reporters about securing the top seed in the West. Though most experts were already viewing the Lakers as one of the favorites in the West, the former No. 1 overall pick says he heard rumblings of his inability to accomplish such a feat at his age and in a tougher conference:

“Since 2010, right?” James said to The Times. “They said I couldn’t do it.”

“I’ll enjoy this one,” James said, nodding as he grinned. “They said I can’t do it.”

With their win over the Jazz, the Lakers pushed their lead over the second-place Clippers to six games. As he often does, James had his mind set on facilitating through the games opening phases. He logged 35 minutes, recording 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field, nine assists, eight rebounds, two steals and one block. Anthony Davis led the charge for the Lakers, racking up 42 points (4-of-8 from downtown) and 12 rebounds in 39 minutes of action.

AD was truly a beast:

James and the Lakers have now won two of their first three games inside the Orlando bubble. The team will look to keep its momentum rolling on Wednesday night when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
