LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have already been dealing with the injury bug early on in the season. In fact, a few of their key contributors haven't even touched the floor yet this season.

Trevor Ariza was ruled out for 1-2 months prior to season start due to necessary ankle surgery. Kendrick Nunn is still weeks away after getting diagnosed with a bone bruise. LeBron James himself missed a couple of games after an ankle injury scare.

These Lakers injuries have opened the door for recent acquisition Avery Bradley and rookie fan favorite Austin Reeves to make an impact early on.

But the Lakers are finally getting some good news on the injury front, as sharpshooter Wayne Ellington is reportedly on his way back into action. The so-called Man with the Golden Arm has been “cleared for activity” after dealing with a hamstring injury during the preseason.

“We’d like to get him in a couple of our practices before we throw him into a game. Not sure when that’s going to happen, but I don’t plan on using him tonight,” Vogel said at shootaround before the teams win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Wayne Ellington would give the Lakers a lethal deep threat, which is crucial in maximizing lineups that need legitimate floor-spacers. Plugging in Ellington, who shot 42% from three last season on six attempts, into lineups with LeBron James and Russell Westbrook is certainly tantalizing.

The Lakers have actually shot the three-pointer well percentage-wise, ranking fourth in the NBA at 38.9% in the young season, but they're in the bottom third in attempts per contest.
