Much has been said about the NBA's plans for a play-in tournament to determine the final few spots for the upcoming playoffs. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has made it abundantly clear that he disagrees with the notion, and stars such as Luka Doncic have likewise criticized the league for the same.

Kenyon Martin Sr. has since shared his two cents worth on the play-in tournament debacle and there's no doubt that he agrees with LeBron and Luka:

“Biggest issue for me is this play-in situation,” Martin said on a recent episode of BasketballNews.com's Unfiltered podcast. “I think this s**t bogus man. I think it's whack. I think it's dumb. Like LeBron said, whoever made up that s**t needs to be fired. I understand if you got like two teams like eighth and ninth and they got the same record. Let them play a one-game or two- or three-game mini series and then see who come out on top of that. But having four teams? That makes absolutely no sense.”

Needless to say, Kenyon Martin does not support the idea of the play-in tournament and he wasn't shy about speaking his mind about it. Martin is not one to mince words, and he absolutely blasted the league here. He even went as far as saying that this is nothing more than a money-making scheme for the NBA:

“Definitely trying to make up for last year,” Martin added. “They're trying to make up for the bubble not having fans in the stands and all that stuff.”

While there have been some parties that have shown their support for the league's play-in tournament idea, it has generally been received in a negative manner. Nevertheless, the NBA does not seem to have any plans of scrapping the concept, so it appears that all this criticism will fall on deaf ears.
