The Los Angeles Lakers are taking on the Detroit Pistons in the third round of NBA Summer League action. With the Lakers leading the Pistons in the first half, they got a surprise visitor.

LeBron James, who recently signed his new, four-year deal with the Lakers, arrived at the Thomas and Mack Center to watch Josh Hart and the young Los Angeles team take on their crosstown rival.

This is the first appearance for LeBron since he officially signed with the Lakers earlier this month. The superstar forward has been quiet ever since the signing with public comments about his decision to ink a four-year deal with Los Angeles.

James sits courtside to watch his Lakers attempt to win a second straight Summer League title with Hart making an impression during his second stint in Las Vegas. Los Angeles has a solid chance to come out victorious with the Pistons being their first opponent in the playoff bracket.

Hart is also making a strong case for Summer League MVP. He's played consistently well in Las Vegas after many believed he'd only play a couple of games this summer with one in the California Classic before playing one game at the Thomas & Mack Center.

However, Hart insisted on playing and held off Magic Johnson's plea for him to sit out. After helping lead the Lakers to a Summer League title last year, Kyle Kuzma was held out this year along with reigning Summer League MVP, Lonzo Ball. The UCLA product wouldn't have been able to play anyway as he is undergoing surgery on his left knee next week.
