Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has always championed his fellow athletes. Especially the great ones. As the new NFL season opened on Thursday, LeBron was of course glued to the games and he quickly gave a huge shoutout to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady kicked off their title defense tour on a strong note, leading an impressive drive early on against the Dallas Cowboys. LeBron was so hyped up, he had to post his reaction on Twitter.

The Buccaneers went into the break with a 21-16 lead over the returning Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.

LeBron and Brady, two of the greatest athletes in the world today, have maintained a friendly relationship over the years. They've gushed about each other's legacies in numerous interviews, with Brady even using an iconic picture of LeBron to respond to The King's compliment.

LeBron's tweet, however, might have jinxed Brady and company a little. Because despite their solid start, Prescott led a furious comeback for the Cowboys, even grabbing a one-point lead in the fourth quarter after Greg Zuerlein's 48-yard field goal. But as Brady's teams have done throughout his career, the Buccaneers stole the pulsating win, 31-29 with a field goal of their own courtesy of Ryan Succop.

Tom Brady finished with numbers of 32-50, four touchdowns, and 379 yards to survive the Cowboys and start the season with a victory for the intact Buccaneers. LeBron James, who has a habit of biting his nails, probably did a lot it in the dying seconds of the thrilling game.
