Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James just moved past Lakers legend Kobe Bryant for fifth place on the all-time made field goals list, per NBA TV on Twitter.

James entered Saturday night's contest against the Phoenix Suns with 11,716 field goals made, three short of tying Bryant, who finished his career with 11,719. The King officially passed the Black Mamba on the historic list with around five minutes left in the second quarter on a layup.

The 34-year old James continues to add more records and accolades to his storied 16-year career, which will easily land him in the Hall of Fame. However, this amazing feat will probably be clouded by the Lakers' continuing struggles; they dropped Saturday's game against the lowly Suns, 118-109.

Surely, this loss is not a piece of news die-hard Lakers fans will want to see in their headlines. They would rather see their beloved Purple and Gold come up with wins.

With another loss, Los Angeles's chances of securing a playoff berth are getting slimmer. The Lakers need all the wins they can get, and it doesn't help their cause that they still lose games such as this one against Phoenix. They have fallen 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the West and are now 3-7 over their last 10 contests.

James finished his night with 11,726 field goals made, going 10-of-21 from the floor en route to 27 points, nine rebounds, and 16 assists.

All is not well in Laker land, and LeBron James could miss the playoffs for the first time since his sophomore season. Nonetheless, this field goal milestone is still an amazing feat for The King of Hollywood. Am I right, Lakers fans?

Hey, maybe he'll post this on Instagram, too.
