Former NBA star Antoine Walker believes LeBron James has to put on his scoring cap for the Los Angeles Lakers to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2020 playoffs.

Walker, during an appearance on “First Things First,” said James may need to average at least 30.0 points per game for the Lakers to avoid the upset at the hands of the Blazers.

LeBron James led the NBA in assists per game this season. It's an impressive feat considering the Lakers star is in Year 17 and 35 years old.

However, Antoine Walker says the Lakers are going to need James to be aggressive on offense and look for his shot instead of deferring to Anthony Davis and others. While Davis may be a superstar in the NBA and a dominant force on both sides of the ball, Los Angeles is only going to win the championship if James is the best player in the 2020 playoffs.

James averaged 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists for the Lakers during the regular season. The three-time champion and four-time MVP shot 49.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc and 69.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Davis led the Lakers in points. The Chicago native put up 26.1 points in 62 games along with 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. However, look for James to take his game to another level in the playoffs and possibly lead the team in a variety of stats.
