To say that the Los Angeles Lakers made moves in the offseason would be an understatement. The team has undergone a major facelift to provide more help for LeBron James and Anthony Davis after the premature exit last season.

The Lakers surrounded the All-Star duo with enough veteran talent, but the squad also made key additions to improve outside shooting, including Wayne Ellington and Malik Monk.

Ellington already played for the Lakers before and he's ready to produce in his second stint, regardless of his role (via Heavy).

“Put the team first and be ready to do what’s needed of you. I’m a guy that’s has been in all of those situations. I’ve been a guy that has come off the bench. I’ve started. I’ve played a little, I’ve played a lot. I’m prepared. I’m ready for all that stuff, so I think as long as you put the team first and have that mindset that we’re coming into this thing to help win a championship and keep that goal at the top of the list, we’ll be just fine.”

The former North Carolina standout could start the shooting guard spot for the Lakers, joining Russell Westbrook in the backcourt. With the way LeBron, Davis, and Westbrook could command defenders, Ellington should get a lot of pretty good looks.

The 33-year-old Ellington has had his fair share of solid seasons when given ample minutes, averaging in double digits five times in his career. While he has heavy competition for playing time with the Lakers, having a selfless mindset will surely bode him well.
