Sunday night against the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James recorded his eighth triple-double of the season.

By doing so, James passed Lakers legend Kobe Bryant for second-most triple-doubles by a Laker player in his 30s or older, per Basketball Reference.

LeBron is 34-years-old. Kobe recorded seven triple-doubles from 2009-2015.

Magic Johnson holds the record, as the Hall of Famer had 25 triple-doubles from 1990-1996 for the Purple and Gold.

The Lakers are going to miss the playoffs this season, but LeBron James is still putting up monster numbers despite playing on a groin injury since Jan. 31.

In 53 games this season, LeBron is averaging 27.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.1 assists per contest while shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 66.9 percent from the free-throw line.

James has 81 triple-doubles in his career. That's fifth all-time behind Oscar Robertson (181), Magic (138), Russell Westbrook (132) and Jason Kidd (107).

This summer is going to be the first offseason since his second year in the league that LeBron is going to have the entire offseason vacant. It will give The King time to rest his body which has a ton of miles on it.

Entering this season, James had played in eight-straight NBA Finals.
