After the Los Angles Lakers took care of business against the Memphis Grizzlies this past Friday, LeBron James signed and sent his LeBron 15 shoes to the one and only Ken Griffey Jr., one of the best baseball players to play the game.

Griffey Jr.'s game definitely left James mesmerized, as James' LeBron 15 were modeled after Nike's Air Griffey Max 1 line specially made for the former Seattle Mariner, according to Lakers Nation:

LeBron James signed the following on the shoes he sent to “The Kid”: “The Kid Jr. 24 x The Kid from Akron 23!” Both the best in their respective sports, James wanted to make sure that he tipped his cap to a fellow legend. In his career, Griffey Jr. played for three teams and amassed a total of 630 home runs, 1,836 RBIs, and 2,781 hits. Although he never won a World Series, Griffey Jr.'s contribution to the game will never be forgotten.

James' appreciation for other sports has been seen through his activism on social media. Lakers Nation mentioned James' most recent reaction to Tom Brady and his drunk celebration after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl. He has been seen supporting athletes from all professional sports and sending these shoes to Griffey Jr. was just another example.

The four-time champion will continue to pay tribute to the athletes that have impacted him and his development to become one of the greatest basketball players the league has ever seen. Through his actions, James never forgets where he came from and the people that shaped him into the man and player he is today.
